AVBOB a reputable and funeral parlour wished to rejuvenate its premises in Umbilo Durban while giving the brand a fresh and contemporary new identity and branding which would set it in line with the current times. Therefore an ultra modern and iconic building was envisioned for the buildings upgrades. Increasing the offices spaces as well as the functional spaces of the parlour, while giving the building a fresh new look which would make it distinctive in the area.
The Department of Public Works in Kwa-Zulu Natal identified a dilapidated building in the Durban CBD which belonged to the National Government of South Africa and as a form of consolidating some of the Department of Public Works departments as various other state departments that are scattered around the Metropolitan, conceptualized the idea of consolidating all the various departments into one building which would aid in the streamlining of their execution of their work.
